To stay a lotus,

In the middle of a swamp,

To stay pure and light,

In the middle of a storm.

To allay the angry thunderclouds,

With the respite of soothing rain,

To stay peaceful and hopeful,

When all around says nay.

This is living from the spirit,

This is the test of faith,

This makes us close to divine,

Let me show you the way.

Surrendering before the battle,

Is not cowardice but seeking peace,

When life itself needs courage to live,

Where is the need to slay!
